Date.ca
Date.ca is a more personalized dating experience than its American counterpart Date.com, since it is targeted directly to Canada. It has a professional look and feel even though it’s targeting a smaller market. While you may expect that the content would be duplicated between the two sites and the difference would be a Canada border, instead each site is fully independent, which gives every user looking for a relationship a better experience.
The Canadian site offers slightly fewer features as a result of the smaller demographics but don’t let that
deter you – sometimes too many bells and whistles worsens the online dating experience; oftentimes keeping it simple is much more effective.
The online dating interface is very straightforward. You select the area and the orientation of the members you want to view and a list is returned. On the US version, you could sort the members by additional criteria like birthdays or popularity, which seems interesting but not necessary. That said, a regular search by location or telephone area code still let’s you sort your potential dating results in order by newest members, most popular profiles or most active subscribers on Date.ca. These features provide a great way of browsing the Canadian dating site and looking for relationship possibilities, just like the American version.
Each result shows not only the last login date, but also even the exact time of day the person was online. You can see all their profile details and photos for free as well. You can send up to 30 free flirts per day, or prewritten e-cards to other members who you think could be good fits. There is also an interesting rating system beside each description you preview. You can click yes, maybe, or no for each member you look at to set up possible matches. These results are used in “Click,” their matchmaking system for online dating. Here’s how it works:
If you select yes, the other member sees your profile in their email of possible dating matches, so they can rate their interest in you. A “Yes” rating from both sides makes a perfect match. By choosing “No”, the profile is no longer presented in future emailed potential matches. If you instead select “Maybe”, that user’s profile will show up again until you make up your mind. It’s a good way to clear already rejected choices from new searches, or to connect with another subscriber that likes what you have to offer as much as you like what that member has.
When looking for matches and relationships there are numerous ways to communicate your interest. For instance, Date.ca provides instant messaging, email, personalized e-cards and video messaging to further connect and explore dating possibilities. Unfortunately, these advanced features do require an upgrade to a paid membership. Nevertheless, the localized free searches remain extensive and they have added message boards, as well as advice columns with dating tips.
Another exciting thing to see is that the site has grown in popularity despite limiting free access. Which must be a sign that paying customers must be satisfied that they’re getting their money’s worth. One thing that has always worked in its favor is that Date.ca is heavily promoted, aiding in popularity and increasing your chances of making a Canadian romantic connection. If you are in Canada and looking for love, why not give online dating a try and look for your next date or relationship with a free trial of Date.ca?

Date.ca had some hot chicks and I met some cool people to party with here in Ottawa but don’t bother paying for it. The free service is fine.
I love that this service is specifically for Canadians and I think that made the dating pool a lot more useful – I can actually meet the people in person that I flirt with online.
It isn’t as flashy as some of the other services I have used before, like Yahoo, so I just stuck with the free version but I have gone on some great dates by using Date.ca.
The guys on Date.ca were actually really good looking, they just didn’t have much personality from what I saw. Went on a couple of decent dates, but nothing substantial developed.
It has some cool features, but I found that I had a better experience using the free service since I didn’t really like all the bells & whistles.
i like http://www.imsingle.ca
works well n i think it has date.ca in it too
